(Jefferson City, Mo.) – Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe released the following statement:
“When Governor Parson called and asked me to assist him in this great endeavor, it was one of the most humbling and unbelievable days in my life. And like the governor, I do believe that public service is a privilege, and one that no one should take lightly. That Governor Parson would consider me to help take Missouri to new heights is most humbling – and I am very honored to accept this high calling.”
“You have my commitment that I’ll work tirelessly to make sure Missourians get a great day, every day possible. I am honored by this opportunity, grateful to our great governor, and excited to get to work!”
Lt. Governor Kehoe is honored and humbled to have bipartisan support from Missouri’s elected officials, business leaders, and civic leaders:
House Speaker Todd Richardson: “I have come to know Sen. Kehoe very well over the past few years and have seen firsthand Sen. Kehoe’s passion to solve some of the biggest issues facing Missourians. Sen. Kehoe’s experienced leadership as the Senate Floor Leader was a big part of this year’s successful session of substantive conservative reforms. Through it all though, he has never forgotten his roots as a lifelong small business owner striving to remove governmental burdens and build world-class infrastructure so Missouri businesses can succeed and grow. He is a tremendous public servant and his commitment to improving the lives of all Missourians will make Sen. Kehoe an excellent Lt. Governor.”
Senate President Pro Tem Ron Richard: “I commend Gov. Parson’s selection of Mike Kehoe as lt. governor. For more than a decade, Sen. Kehoe has proven he has the experience and is committed to serving the people of Missouri. Not only is Mike a close colleague, but he is a good friend. I have been fortunate to witness his strong leadership skills and his passion for the Show-Me State. He knows how to communicate with people and listen to both sides. As Majority Leader of the Senate he was able to work across the aisle reasonably and fairly, and I know he will bring those values to his new role as lt. governor.”
State Senator Gina Walsh, Minority Floor Leader: “Sen. Kehoe is highly respected among members of both parties for his honesty and integrity. He will make an excellent Lt. Governor and I look forward to continuing to work with him on issues important to Missouri families.”
State Senator Kiki Curls, Assistant Minority Floor Leader: “As a State Senator, Mike Kehoe was known for his ability to work across the aisle on important issues facing our state. Sen. Kehoe is a fair and hardworking public servant, and I know he will continue to serve the people of Missouri well.”
Steve Smith, Co-Founder of the St. Raymond’s Society: “Mike and Claudia have been instrumental in supporting our organization from day one. In his new role as Missouri’s Lieutenant Governor, we look forward to Mike’s continued advocacy for women who choose life.”
Debbie Stokes, President of the Vitae Foundation: “Mike Kehoe has been involved with Vitae for many years, long before he was ever in politics. He believes in the inherent value of every human life, and that life itself is a gift from God. We applaud his appointment as lieutenant governor, and look forward to his active leadership in protecting life.”
