JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Today, Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe announced the fifth annual statewide Buy Missouri Week will be held from Saturday, October 8, 2022, through Saturday, October 15, 2022. As designated by the Missouri legislature, Buy Missouri Week encourages citizens to purchase Missouri-made products in support of Missouri businesses and manufacturers.

“Buy Missouri Week is a great time to showcase the many incredible products made in Missouri. When we shop local, we are supporting our friends, family, and neighbors who work at and own these businesses, ultimately supporting our local communities and our state’s economic success,” Lieutenant Governor Kehoe said. “My background as a small business owner has allowed me to better understand the importance of supporting small and local businesses. Claudia and I have been fortunate enough to meet many Buy Missouri members from across the state, and we thoroughly enjoy hearing their stories and learning more about the products they create.”

The Buy Missouri initiative was pioneered by Governor Mike Parson in 2017 during his time as lieutenant governor. While in the Missouri Senate, then-Senator Kehoe sponsored Senate Bill 891 to establish Buy Missouri Week. The legislation received overwhelming bipartisan support in both legislative chambers and was signed into law in 2018.

“This year’s Buy Missouri Week is even more exciting as we are proud to share that we have surpassed 500 Buy Missouri members. We will be officially announcing the 500th member soon, and we encourage Missourians to follow along during Buy Missouri Week as our office highlights the incredible stories of our great Missouri products, businesses, and manufacturers,” Lieutenant Governor Kehoe concluded.
