Lt. Governor David Wasinger Launches Campaign to Drive Charitable Support Across Missouri

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Today, Lieutenant Governor David Wasinger, Chair of the 2026 Missouri State Employees Charitable Campaign (MSECC), officially launched this year’s campaign by meeting with the Governor’s Cabinet to rally agency participation and addressing hundreds of state employees at a kickoff event in Jefferson City.

For nearly four decades, the MSECC has been one of the most effective and efficient workplace giving programs in the nation. Since its creation in 1985, Missouri state employees have contributed more than $36 million to charities serving families and communities across the state. In the past two years alone, contributions have totaled nearly $1.55 million.

“This campaign is about more than donations — it is about Missouri’s state workforce showing what public service truly means,” said Lt. Governor Wasinger. “For forty years, state employees have proven that the people who serve our state also strengthen our communities. Every contribution, no matter the size, has an impact that reaches far beyond our workplaces.”

The MSECC is coordinated by the Office of Administration, with financial management provided by Central Bank of Jefferson City. It is self-supporting, with no taxpayer funds used in direct support. Administrative costs have averaged under ten percent over the last five years, ensuring that nearly every dollar goes directly to the organizations employees choose.

During the kickoff, Lt. Governor Wasinger highlighted the role of agency coordinators, who lead the campaign within their departments. Coordinators organize education, encourage participation, and make the pledging process simple for their colleagues.

How to Give Employees and retirees can contribute to more than 600 approved charities through:

•    Online pledges at MSECC.mo.gov

•    Paper pledge cards available from agency coordinators.

•    Joining the Century Club Plus with contributions of $5 or more per pay period ($120 annually).

Payroll deductions begin with the new calendar year, and contributors may opt into a continuous pledge that automatically renews each year unless revoked.

“The MSECC shows the very best of Missouri’s public service,” Wasinger added. “When thousands of employees join together in a common effort, the impact reaches every corner of our state.”
