(PERRYVILLE) – Lieutenant Governor Mike Parson will travel to Perryville on Friday, February 10. The lieutenant governor will visit several local businesses and tour the proposed site of a Vietnam Memorial. Lieutenant Governor Parson will be accompanied by State Senator Wayne Wallingford, State Representative Rick Francis, Missouri Veterans Commission Executive Director Larry Kay, Missouri Veterans Commission Executive Secretary Jill Talken, Missouri Veterans Commission Director of Cemeteries Program Stan Baughn, and representatives from Senator Roy Blunt’s and Congressman Jason Smith’s office.
“I am strongly committed to supporting Missouri businesses,” said Lieutenant Governor Parson. “I look forward to being in Perryville as lieutenant governor and seeing how I can help these businesses continue to thrive,” Parson said. The lieutenant governor will tour the Gilster-Mary Lee plant, the TG/USA campus, and Robinson Construction.
The lieutenant governor will also visit the proposed site of a Missouri Vietnam Memorial Wall, which will be part of the future Missouri National Veteran’s Memorial in Perryville. “The Perryville community is excited about this project, and I will do all I can to provide resources for its completion not only for the community but for the veterans of Missouri,” said Lieutenant Governor Parson.
Parson was sworn in as Missouri’s 47th lieutenant governor on January 9. The lieutenant governor is the second highest constitutional office in Missouri, with executive and legislative responsibilities.
