(JEFFERSON CITY) – Lieutenant Governor Mike Parson has extended an invitation to all Missouri veterans, law enforcement, and emergency personnel to attend a Veterans Week Kickoff event at the Missouri State Capitol on Saturday, November 4 at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will kick off a week of veteran events across Missouri to celebrate America’s veterans, law enforcement, and emergency personnel. The ceremony will feature performances by the 135th Army Band, the Monticello Singers, and displays by the Missouri National Guard and State Highway Patrol. Special recognition will be given to all attending World War II and Korea veterans as well as veterans currently serving in law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency personnel. Motorcycles and patrol cars are welcome and encouraged.
“As a veteran of the United States Army, former Sheriff of Polk County, and an advocate for the 480,000 veterans who call Missouri home, we want to recognize all those who wear the uniform to keep our state and country safe,” said Lieutenant Governor Mike Parson. “The recent attacks on our police officers and first responders only make this kind of ceremony more important, and I look forward to seeing all our state’s veterans, law enforcement, and emergency personnel at the State Capitol on November 4 to say thank you for their service.
