(JEFFERSON CITY) – Lieutenant Governor Mike Parson joined Bass Pro Shops founder/CEO Johnny Morris and PGA icon Gary Player at the Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge Media Day today.

“I am glad to help promote the Legends of Golf tournament, which is held right here in Missouri,” said Lieutenant Governor Mike Parson. “Legends of Golf will broadcast this year to over 300 million homes, and I know Johnny Morris and Gary Player have worked hard to make this new course a world-class golf destination, which will undoubtedly bring more visitors to our state. Tourism is Missouri’s second largest industry with nearly 42 million visitors, a new state record, and $16.5 billion in revenue last year, supporting over 300,000 jobs,” Parson said. “The tournament has also generated over $1.5 million to establish a series of memorials honoring veterans at the College of the Ozarks campus, a great service to our state and country,” Lieutenant Governor Parson said.

Lieutenant Governor Parson also thanked Johnny Morris and Gary Player for their commitment to Missouri and to the cause of patriotism. “On a personal note, Johnny and Gary are true patriots with a deep love of state and country,” Parson said. “It is obvious they care a great deal about the United States and Missouri and want them to succeed, and I am glad to help them make our country and state an even better place to live,” said Lieutenant Governor Parson.
