Lt. Governor Peter Kinder issues statement on Nixon's attempt to implement healthcare mandate
JEFFERSON CITY - Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder issued the following statement today regarding the Nixon Administration’s attempt to implement the federal healthcare mandate:
"Gov. Nixon has done enough to destroy jobs in Missouri, presiding over the third-worst job loss rate in the country last year. Unfortunately, he just doesn't understand that implementing President Obama's policies like the healthcare mandate will only exacerbate our job-loss problem. Gov. Nixon's attempt to usurp the Legislature's authority and implement this misguided mandate by royal fiat must be stopped. I applaud Sens. Lembke, Cunningham and Schaaf who took swift action to protect Missourians from President Obama’s and Gov. Nixon's disastrous proposal."
