Lt. Governor Peter Kinder names John Curtis of St. Louis as Senior Service Award Winner
Award recognizes volunteer work by Missouri Seniors
ST. LOUIS – Missouri Lt. Governor Peter Kinder today (July 26) presented John Curtis of St. Louis with the Lieutenant Governor's Senior Service Award.
Lt. Governor Kinder presented the award at Turner Playground in St. Louis. The Stream Team No. 4977 of St. Louis nominated Curtis for the award.
Curtis volunteers as a senior member of the Missouri Stream Team, which seeks to ensure the cleanliness of rivers and streams throughout Missouri. Kinder presented Curtis with an official declaration and a Senior Service Award lapel pin.
“John Curtis sets an example for all Missourians with his willingness to serve the Stream Team,” he said. “His selfless service is an inspiration to all who know him and to all Missourians.”
Due to a record number of nominations, Kinder this year expanded his Senior Service Award, naming 34 winners representing the state’s Senatorial Districts. Curtis won in the 13th District.
