(October 13, 2011) More than 60 people attended a listening session at Osage Beach City Hall, where residents, local officials and business leaders discussed concerns regarding the Department of Natural Resources’ handling of water-quality issues at Lake of the Ozarks. Governor Peter Kinder visited Glaize Beach at Lake of the Ozarks State Park after meeting with area officials and residents regarding water-quality issues at Lake of the Ozarks. A large population of geese at the beach has been blamed for high E. coli levels in the nearby water, which forced DNR to close the beach this summer.
