Sedalia, Missouri held a special place in the heart of ragtime composer, Scott Joplin, and it is the perfect place for the annual Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival. Many of Joplin's early compositions were written while he lived in Sedalia during his early musical days. Joplin later moved to St. Louis. |
